Open the Book - Zacchaeus the Tax Collector.

Open the Book came to share the story of Zacchaeus the Tax Collector. Zacchaeus was an outcast because he was seen as a greedy, corrupt traitor. After meeting Jesus, he was sorry. He wanted to make up for his bad deeds and live a better life. He repented. Repent is not just saying sorry. Repent means to change direction, turning from what is bad to what is good. Did Zacchaeus do that? Yes, he did.

Jesus often welcomed and made friends with people who had done very bad things. He did this because he believed that God loves them and wants to forgive them and help them to change. Jesus taught that everyone needs God's forgiveness - no one is too bad or too good.

Have you ever done something wrong that got you into trouble? How did it make you feel? Did you have to own up? How did it get sorted out - did you say sorry? Did people forgive you? Afterwards, when it was sorted - how did you feel then?
