Compassion at Trinity CEVAP

  • We teach children to notice the needs of others and identify how we can support them
  • We inspire children with stories from within the local, national and global news where people have displayed compassion
  • We encourage and empower children to make a difference; to be agents of change

Year 5 and 6 used their learning about Christingles from their RE lessons exploring incarnation, to lead class based worship across the whole school. They shared the meaning of Christingle and what gave each class time to reflect on Jesus as the light of the world and where we might see the light and love of God in our school and community. The worship concluded with the song 'This little light of mine.'

During Prayer and Reflection Lunchtime Club, one of the children used the Reflective Story telling resources to tell the story of 'Joseph and his Dreams.' We talked about who showed compassion and why.

The Open the Book team performed 'Joseph and his dreams' in collective worship. I wonder who you think shows compassion in this story?
