Here are today's activities:
This week I would like you to practice these spellings. Remember the handwriting letters we have been practicing!
Miss Mowles' Spelling Challenge:
I would love it if you could find a creative way to practice your spellings. You could use them in silly sentences, write them in rainbow colours, draw a scribble then fill each section with the different spellings, etc. What ways can you come up with? Don't forget to send me a picture if you try my challenge!
The words in the sheet attached today all end in either the ‘sh’ or ‘ch’ digraphs. When a word ends with one of these digraphs, we add the suffix ‘es’ to make it a plural.
Mr Muddle has forgotten this rule. Please help him to find the correct spelling for each plural and check his sentence is correct too.
Remember, you do not have to print this sheet, you could write the date in your English book, the question number in the margin, and your answers to that question next to the question number.
Maths – Repeated Addition into Multiplication
We looked yesterday at multiplication, or groups of. Today, I have attached a sheet with some objects in groups of 5. You have two options today.
Option 1: Make a counting in 5s number line, then count in fives to find out how many of each object there are.
Option 2: Use objects that you have at home to make your own groups of 5 like on the sheet, then label them with the repeated addition number sentence.
For an extra challenge, write them out as a multiplication number sentence. The first number is always how many groups there are, then the symbol x, then the second number is how many are in each group.
Please keep reading through Bug Club, and practicing Phonics through Phonics Play or the Phonics flashcards. Please also remember you can practice Maths through TT Rockstars, Numbots or games on the Topmarks website.
