2.4.19 - In maths year 2s have been learning about 2D shapes. We made right angle monsters and went on a right angle hunt around the classroom. We then sorted 2D shapes using Venn and Carroll diagrams.
6.3.18 - Today we enjoyed a visit from James Campbell, who has inspired us to write our own stories about a magical machine. We also listened to parts of his book "The Funny Life of Pets" and retold some funny stories of own using shadow puppets.
4.3.19 Science - Today we planted different seeds, bulbs and tubers. We looked closely at them and discussed the differences. We are going to observe how they grow into plants.
Today we have a visit from a meteorologist. She showed us different ways to record the weather and why this is so important. We then made our own rain gauges and weather vanes.
In Science we investigated which material held the most cubes before sinking. We found out that tin foil was the best. We then twisted and bent the foil into different shapes to see which one was the best.
In Science we have been looking at materials and their properties. We sorted different materials using Venn diagrams.

Wow! What a great start to our pirate topic! When we came into school we found some mystery footprints and a torn up note. After going on a hunt, and finding all of the pieces, we found out that it was from a pirate! We wrote Wanted Posters to try and capture him!
