We have been exploring the weather in the different seasons during our Topic sessions. We looked today at the clothes that we would be wearing in the different seasons. We all agreed that we wouldn't want to be swimming in the sea in Winter or wearing woolly hats, scarves and gloves in Summer!
6.3.19 - We really enjoyed our visit from the author James Campbell today. He taught us about how to be a writer and read us some extracts from some of his books, including 'The Funny Life of Pets' and 'Boy Face'. We were inspired to design our own magical machines to write our own stories about and to make some shadow puppets to use for story-telling!
4.3.19 - In Science today we looked at then planted some different seeds, bulbs and tubers. We discussed the differences between them and talked about what we think they need to germinate. We are going to watch them closely to see what happens.
We have had a visit from a meteorologist. She showed us different ways to find out and record the weather and why this is so important, especially for pilots.
In Science we investigated which materials could hold the most cubes before sinking. We discovered that tin foil was the best material because it was waterproof. We then twisted and shaped the tinfoil to discover the best shape for a pirate ship!
Pirate Hook Days - We had so much fun starting to learn about pirates. Here are some pictures to show what we have been getting up to!
